Farmer’s Free Corn Roast
Thursday, August 28, 2025
The Farmer’s Free Corn Roast, formerly Augustfest, is a cherished annual event in Markesan, Wisconsin.
Held in late August, this festival brings the community together to celebrate the end of summer with delicious food, fun activities, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

While activities are still being finalized, here what we’re planning:
- Free Corn Roast: Of course, the main attraction is the free corn roast. Freshly roasted corn on the cob is served to all attendees, showcasing the local agricultural bounty.
- Live Music: Performances by local bands and musicians, adding a lively soundtrack to the festivities.
- Family Activities: Plenty of activities for families and children, including games, inflatables, and more.
- Community Spirit: An excellent opportunity for residents and visitors to come together, socialize, and enjoy the friendly small-town atmosphere that Markesan is known for. Join us for a Homecoming Pep Rally supporting our Markesan Hornets Football team.
The Farmer’s Free Corn Roast is a testament to Markesan’s strong sense of community and the importance of local agriculture. It’s a day filled with fun, food, and fellowship, making it an event we hope you will attend.
